A. Strategy Development and Strategic Planning
The exercise aims to:
Clarify or re-visit the company’s Vision-Mission-Values;
Assess the firm’s internal and external environments to identify
strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats as well as market
gaps that exude of business potentials; and
Firm-up medium and long-term goals that translate the mission and
vision into specific measurable targets and define the strategies to
achieve them
The Strategy Development and the Strategic Planning exercise precede all
the other activities and documentation since it gives the would-be franchisor
to momentarily detach himself/herselfday-to-day operations and to focus on
the direction where asking where the business is headed and what its
priorities should be.
B. Financial Advisories and Modeling
A financial model is an important tool that enables a business organization to
understand how it creates value as well as recognize business risks.
We build a robust, flexible and user-friendly model that our client can readily
use to analyze the impact of operational parameters on the value and viability
of his/her business.
The model consists of:
Understanding the company’s historical financial statements or in their
absence, doing forensic accounting to reconstruct those statements.
The analysis of historical financial data will help identify revenue and
cost drivers as well as provide clues of operational inefficiencies
particularly through the use of industry benchmarks;
Formulate assumptions about how a business will perform in the future
based on the directions set in the strategic planning exercise;
Make a financial forecast including the investments needed to finance
growth and expansion. This exercise highlights the use of the
Contribution Margin approach and the Cost-Profit-Volume (or break
even) analysis
Economic Value Analysis primarily through the use of the Discounted
Cash Flow (DCF) approach;
Understand how sensitive the cash flow profile and business valuation
are to changes in assumptions through scenario analysis; and
Preparation of an information Memorandum highlighting the
company’s historical performance, its future direction, and its financial
attractiveness to potential investors and franchisors.
