Jose Magsaysay Jr. (JoMag) is a distinguished entrepreneur and Co-Founder of Potato Corner, a “Hall of Fame Franchise Awardee” known for its flavored French fries concept. After selling the brand two years ago, JoMag’s entrepreneurial journey began humbly, cleaning restrooms and kitchens at Wendy’s while studying at De La Salle University.
In 1992, JoMag and his partners launched Potato Corner with an initial investment of 150,000 pesos
in SM Megamall. He emphasizes the importance of calculated risk-taking and continuous learning,
viewing failure as a stepping stone to success.
A champion of entrepreneurship, JoMag fosters agility and collaboration, embodying the Bayanihan spirit. He holds a master’s degree in entrepreneurship from the Asian Institute of Management, where he serves on the Board of Trustees and as Entrepreneur-in-Residence.
Recognized as Entrepreneur of the Year in 2016 and 2019, and CEO of the Year in 2019, JoMag’s business ventures span hospitality, resorts, real estate, and the launch of Gyud Food Market—an incubation center for F&B startups.
